The other morning, just as I was packing lunches and getting LittleBuddy out the door, he shouted from the kitchen table, "LOOK! Its a creature." That's how we refer to all things with legs that we don't immediately identify. As I ran to get my camera and switched to the telephoto lens, he was no longer directly approaching us, but turning to check out the creek area in front of him. At first we thought it was a cougar, but I am not sure. In some views it looked more like a lynx and in others like a coyote. I'll never know for sure. It went behind the scrub oak to the left, and then I didn't see it again, as I turned to get my boy out the door. Still, it was exciting, and reminds us that we really do live in the country.
